The company started in 1997 and has developed into a market leader the old fashioned way – by word of mouth and sales hustle. Owner Al Miesemer is constantly on his phone and in the car visiting clients and prospective clients throughout the Northeast. Al has always wanted a website, but could never find the time to devote to it. Needless to say, if you don’t have a website in 2015, you run the risk of some people not taking you and your business seriously.
When doing our competitive research, we observed that most other timber suppliers have websites with a lot of text and specifications that no one wants to read. We live in a visual world, so we decided to showcase MCM’s project photos throughout the site. The company serves various industries, so our goal was to demonstrate MCM’s capabilities in each of those industries and niches. We also included an online marketplace on the site, called Trade With Max, where the company sells excess inventory and surplus materials and equipment.
